Job Description
- Solid foundation of Linux administration ideally Redhat i-e several years of experience in patching/upgrades/downgrades etc
- HDFS know-how atleast basics of Big Data i-e Hadoop, clustering etc
- At least one of the technology is well known & how it works i-e MapR Hadoop Distribution, Hortonworks Hadoop Distribution, Cloudera Hadoop Distribution
- On shift call / rotation - flexible availability round the clock , Solid communication expert with the seniors & across the teams
- Troubleshooting MapR file system issues ( samba, posix file share service, configurations & how they work , detailed understanding )
- Should have knowledge of cluster level architecture i.e high availability
- should know Bash scripting
- Should have done Cluster scaling(commissioning /decommissioning of nodes)
- Should also have knowledge about sssd /Kerberos / security / encryption
- MapR 6.1 Cluster administration certification is desirable
