Job Description
- Analyze on-premise transactional database environments such as Oracle / SQL Server, evaluate and plan migrations to RDS / Aurora PostgreSQL
- Develop/Enhance database PLSQL code to migrate from source database to target database
- Identity workarounds for specific issues and corner scenarios observed during migration
- Automate solutions for repeatable problems
- Help design and implement AWS RDS and Aurora architectures and configurations for customer
- Consult for the optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and make recommendations to optimize performance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer science or equivalent
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification
- 10+ years of experience in database development/migration using PLSQL, PL/pgSQL, T-SQL
- Hands-on experience on AWS Services – RDS, Aurora, SCT, DMS
- Experience migrating large (>5TB) databases across database engines – Oracle / SQL Server to PostgreSQL
- Experience in performance optimization, query tuning and database parameter tuning
- High-end Troubleshooting and Communication skills
- Scripting language (bash, Perl, python)
- Experience in Database Administration – backup/restore, replication, etc.
- Experience in ETL workflow management (optional)
