DevOps and SRE are a mindset, and the person in this role should look at problems and find solutions to them by creating tools, scripts, updating code or procedurally
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues escalated by partners and internal systems, including developing, implementing, and deploying emergency hot fixes
- Identify opportunities to automate tasks and create or maintain operational tools
- Identify where policy changes could be improved
- Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve complex systems configuration, production, and deployment problems
- Provide support when operational problems occur, problem-solving, and root cause analysis
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment – looking for the fix rather than the cause of an issue
- Be a part of the team that runs services around the world
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Strong understanding of Unix or Linux operating systems – CentOS, RHEL 5-6-7,
- Strong work experience on AWS and the tools, applications, and technologies therein – Lambda, EC2, EBS, all services
- Strong Automation skills across various tools – PHP, Pearl, Python
- Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot problems -
- Demonstrable ability to use creative thinking to create new solutions to new problems
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly as it relates to issue diagnosis and resolution
- Experience installing, configuring, and debugging Apache (e.g. LAMP), Tomcat, and/or Oracle – Oracle (no Info)
- Experience with MySQL, MariaDB, Java, Perl, PHP, Python a plus – MySQL is getting converted to MariaDB. Java for code and Gradle for compiling. Few C++ apps also (Europe).

- Containers – Dockers, Kubernetes
- Prior experience working in a 24/7 operational environment is a plus
- Demonstrable ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision, and the ability to ask for assistance as soon as you can realize that assistance would be needed
