Kitchen Helper

We are looking for talented, hardworking kitchen helpers to maintain, stock, and clean the kitchen. Kitchen helpers are responsible for cleaning, preparing, and maintaining the kitchens of hospitals, nursing homes, restaurants, and schools. You must know how to wash dishes, provide help in cooking meals, and clean the kitchen promptly. You must also recover ingredients from the refrigerator, stockroom, and freezer as per the chef’s instructions.

To start your career as a successful kitchen helper, you must have an understanding of food procedures and remove expired/spoiled ingredients from the refrigerator, stockroom, or freezer. An excellent Kitchen Helper must follow food health and safety regulations and complete their kitchen duties honestly.

Kitchen Helper Responsibilities

• Prepare meal ingredients for the cook
• Washing, cutting, peeling, and slicing ingredients
• Helping kitchen staff with unloading food items from delivery trucks
• Responsible for cleaning the kitchen by mopping and sweeping
• Removing garbage, washing utensils, and replacing garbage bags
• Packing food items as per the order
• Organizing the utensils at their given positions

Kitchen Helper Requirements

• Candidates who have completed a high school diploma or graduate degree in any or related field
• Relevant experience as a kitchen helper
• Have a valid food handler’s license
• Know how to use kitchen equipment and appliances
• Understanding of food safety and procedures
• Good communication skills
• Great organizational skills
• Time management skills
