Required Qualification, Experience & Skillset For Oracle DBA

  • Strong Knowledge On Oracle Database Architecture
  • Hands-On Experience In Installation, Upgrade, Migration, Patching And Administration Of Oracle RAC Databases, On-Premises And AWS.
  • Experience in database upgrade, patching, cloning.
  • Knowledge of RMAN, export backup and recovery scenarios.
  • Experience in DR Drill with exposure to various restore/recovery methods
  • Good knowledge of the Linux and AWS.
  • Knowledge on Database & Server Capacity Monitoring
  • Must have hands-On Experience on OEM administration, maintenance and monitoring.
  • Good knowledge of Unix Commands, Shell scripting.
  • Knowledge on snapshots, AWS database backups and monitoring, S3, cloudwatch.

Secondary Skills

  • Good to have DBA experience on other database technologies Eg. Postgres, Redshift, DB2, MSSQL Server

Role & Responsibilities for Oracle DBA

  • Oracle 11G/12-19c RAC database support experience.
  • Oracle database support on AWS RDS, database creation, migration, upgrade, refresh.
  • Troubleshooting of cluster failures, ASM disk groups failures and DR related problem etc.
  • Configuring and managing high availability, RAC and ASM Administration and hands on experience working in cluster environment.
  • Implementation of Data Guard for database failover between Data center and DR site, perform switchover/failover activities.
  • Ability to perform both Oracle and also operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments.
  • Sound knowledge of database performance tuning, Analyzing AWR/ASH/ADDM Reports and provide recommendations
  • Implement quarterly released CPU/PSU/SPU patches for Standalone/HA databases and co-ordinate with Oracle for any bug-fixes.
  • Troubleshooting Performance Problems in Oracle such as CPU utilization, Memory, I/O, Temp tablespace, Slow running queries, blockings and deadlocks.
  • Solving issues related to Operating System, coordinating with Operations team.
  • Co-Ordination with Vendor and Other Support teams.
  • Monitoring and solving incident tickets, change requests and service calls in production support environment, adhering to SLAs.
