An application support engineer (ASE) is an IT professional responsible for troubleshooting a company's software applications and ensuring that help desk tickets are resolved promptly.
In a large enterprise, an ASE may act as a subject matter expert for a specific software stack.
Applications support is a service that ensures the operational processes in a business run smoothly and enables users to conduct their business.
It is available to both internal and external stakeholders of an organization. The internal users are the organizational employees, management and ownership.
Ability to explain complex ideas to those with limited IT and systems knowledge.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Listening ability and patience.
Extraordinary customer service and relationship management experience.
Application Support Engineer Skills
Working knowledge of SQL Databases & basic network configuration.
Working Knowledge of IT Hardware and Software.
Ability to learn and master employer-specific software.
